Prices for children and infants
When you search for flights, we’ll ask you for the ages of your children at the time of travel so that we can get the most accurate prices from airlines and travel agents.
What we show
- For each flight, the airline / travel agent gives us the total price for everyone travelling – we include this on each result.
- Unfortunately, we don’t know the individual prices that make up this total, but to help you compare prices, we work out the average price per person and show that for each flight.
- This average amount is simply the total group price, divided by the number of passengers – including infants.
- If tickets are cheaper for any children or infants travelling, then these discounts are already taken into account in the total price.
When you go to book at the airline / travel agent site, you will be able to see the breakdown of prices for each member of your group – we recommend checking this carefully before you book.
Note that some airlines do charge for infants on laps. Find out more in this handy article: Flying with babies – regulations and charges
Travelling alone aged under 18?
Some airlines have different rules and prices for people under 18 who are travelling alone. For this reason we recommend you check rules for children / young people travelling alone with the airline/travel agent you plan to book through.
